Alex is 5'8", blonde, blue eyes, 35 years old.  Eldest child of Captain Chip and Captain Matty Weaver Morton. 

Alex is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy and was the first woman to graduate with a perfect 4.0 average for four years.  She won many academic awards in her four years at the Academy.  She was the first female XO in the Submarine service, her chosen service path. 

She has a Master’s Degree in Naval Science and has taught several courses at the nearby University of California at Santa Barbara.  Like her father, Captain Chip Morton, Alex has learned to present a careful façade, and not to reveal herself to any one, but a select few.  She is as organized as her father was and hopes to bring to the boat the same kind of qualities of care and organization that her father brought to the Seaview.  And like her father before her, she is also a plank owner, in this case, of the Nelson. 

She is now the Executive Officer of the Nelson, the first female XO in the Institute's history.  She is the Director of Security at the Nelson Institute, and as such, in conjunction with Caitlin Crane, and her sister, Kit Morton, has brought a state of the art system to the Institute, unlike any that have been used before.
